This one had been taken apart, this is just a top.

 This one is a comforter cover? There is a top and back sewn on three sides, open on one end, like a big pillow case.

They were both made by the same woman, her name was on the box. She was born in 1895 in Austria, but lived here in NJ in 1940.

1900's Cigarette Silks Quilt

This is a Cigarette silks quilt I have for sale, very old, circa 1900's substantial fading and fraying, but still amazing and unique. IT has lots of different cigarette brands, flags, animals, Indians, women, royalty, etc.

Civil War Stars Quilt

First quilt I finished this year woohoo!!! Yes finished, not as in started and finished, but finished nonetheless! This is for my daughter Meghan, got it back from Danny in time for her birthday! Now I have to add piping and binding, but look at the feathers and stars Danny used, gorgeous! These are all Civil War Repros, my faves. The pattern was from a magazine last fall and I can't remember which one, but lots of our guild girls are making this one too.

5" Blocks

I've been playing along with Temecula Quilt Company's weekly block. Here are my first two weeks. They are 5.5" unfinished. I haven't chosen sashing yet. She posted a star block for week 3 which I haven't gotten to yet. A link to her blog is on the left column of my blog.

2013 The Year I Finish Quilts!!!

Today is our 24th Anniversary :) It's a holiday to boot so I don't have to do any shipping today :) So last evening and all morning I got to sew. This is the Bonnie Hunter "Roll Roll Cotton Boll" Mystery from Last year. I just finished it this morning. Woohoo!!! It took over a year, but that's okay, it has a lot of pieces, I haven't counted but over 3000 I think. I liked it in the beginning, (it was my first mystery) but after all the string blocks it starting getting old..lol. Now, I love, love, love it!!! As soon as I pressed the last corner I ran upstairs to put it on my bed, and it is bigger than my king size bed, which thrills me!

This is the second quilt I've finished in 2013. I didn't take pictures of the first before I gave it to Danny to quilt.  Sue may have taken pics, did you Sue?  :)

Sheila's Fabulous Easy Street Quilt

Wow! Sheila is finished her blocks for the Bonnie Hunter Mystery, and I absolutely love it! She used a different set of colors and used her bonus units to make pinwheel centers. It really sparkles! 

Todays Prayer

I have to have constant reminders to pray, I shouldn't need reminding, but there it is. SO this devotional comes each day to my e-mail inbox, and a printed booklet sits on the table in my bathroom. I figure the more times a day I am reminded to put God first, is that greater a chance for me to actually do it! This is copied from today's e-mail and I wanted to share.

Today's Prayer 
“Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways,  King of the nations. Who will not fear you, Lord, and bring glory to your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you for your righteous acts have been revealed" (Rev. 15:3-4). 

Dear Lamb of God, how much longer until you come again? The Scriptures are being fulfilled as God revealed. This world is in such turmoil that it can't be long now before you bring it to an end…and all will know that you are who you are. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that you, Jesus Christ, are Lord. Thank you for saving me. Thank you for my brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank you for your promises. I pray now for those who still do not know you. As the time draws near, may their eyes be opened and their hearts receptive to the truth, to you and your gift of eternal life. Please guide me, direct my steps and my words, that I may speak wisdom to those who need to hear and be a living example of your grace. For it is in your name I pray, the name above all names, amen.
